The import from STAADPro to Tekla was crucial and the engineering intelligence should remain intact.
As the STADDPro model is center line model, it had to be changed to actual input drawing.
Steel connections needed to carry load of boiler and seismic vibrations were too heavy for Tekla modeling.
Our steel detailing solutions to client:
The client shared structural drawings and connection details of the boiler structure with our structural detailing teams. As we deliver steel structure detailing and GA drawings, structural design teams at the client’s end were also developing structural designs which caused multiple revisions during the projects and were successfully accommodated.
The work initiated with the development of STAADPro modeling and accommodating the revisions within as and when received in Tekla.
All the member locations from the origin needed a shift due to design revisions.
We developed heavy beam-beam and beam-columns, bracing connections and shared with the client in form of Tekla model.
Since big lump of boiler mass was to be mounted at the top (55m from the base), structure had to be very stable and drawings needed accuracy.
Following multiple QC; our teams’ shared final GA drawings which helped the client save costs, reduce risks and enabled smooth execution.
