The Client is nearly a century old construction-engineering firm in the United States of America.
The Client was constructing a 6 floor inn for one of the leading names in the hospitality industry. At the initiation of the project, the client shared only the architectural drawings of the inn to be constructed, which would be the basis for the LOD300 Building Information Models to be created for the facility.
The project team used their engineering knowledge and skills to create a structural plan for the building, and then developed the building models for all disciplines in Revit. Once the models were created, they were set-up for coordination in order to rule out inter-discipline clashes. The project team resolved clashes first and then drew up material take-off and construction schedules.
The client incurred minimal wastage of construction material and rework time on-site. The material-take off and project completion schedules were so accurate that the project was completed faster than it would have, if created using traditional CAD-based construction methods.
